More than appearance

Aesthetics are the means by which we understand, interact, and thereby create.

They represent potential and process, establish a means of understanding and interacting, and augment the experience and usability of a product. They are a portal through which actions can be identified, examined, manipulated, altered, and completed. In this way aesthetics hold as-significant a meaning for a product as the engineering itself, providing purpose to the tools and enabling them to be used. It is through the visual representation of concepts, abilities, and processes that we understand the "what" and "how" of doing, and it is in the structure and execution of the visual aesthetic that we render a process usable.

Below are the domains used in the construction of components and the editor, both individually and assembled into themes.
